Nick Morgan believes his MSS Colchester Kawasaki team will be a reckoned force in 2010 after securing its riders and sponsors well in advance of the new MCE British Superbike Championship season.
MSS Colchester confirmed yesterday that Simon Andrews would remain for a second term in 2010, where he will be joined by Superbike Cup champion Gary Mason.
Coming in the year the previously unfancied ZX-10R showed competitive pace, particularly in the hands of Andrews, to lead races and secure a podium finish at Cadwell Park, Morgan admits he had his pick of the riders by the season's end.
Nonetheless, he has elected to retain Andrews and sign Mason, the 30-year-old getting another shot at success in the championship class after a stunning season on the low budget Quay Garage Honda.
With his riders and sponsors sorted before Christmas, Morgan is confident this will give them sufficient preparation time to come out of the box fighting come April.
“We think this is a great line-up. Simon was always our number one choice after his brilliant season but it was very flattering to have pretty much every top rider from BSB and beyond come to visit us, we must be doing something right these days.
“Gary had a brilliant season, he dominated the Privateers Cup but actually he battled up front with the guys on top machinery all year long and showed real desire, he knows this is a real life line and he's not going to waste it.
“We're actually well ahead of previous years in terms of package, riders and sponsors, maybe now we can enjoy Xmas a bit more!”
