Ultimate Racing make step up

Ultimate Racing to move up from BSB Cup to the main series for 2010
Ultimate Racing has announced that it will make the move up the main MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship for the 2010 season.

The team finished second in the BSB Cup last season with Peter Hickman, with the Yamaha squad now electing to join the main championship for the season ahead.

Going into the new campaign, Hickman revealed that the main aim will be to fight for top ten positions, with the experience gained over the past twelve months making it a realistic goal.

"I can't wait for the new season as we are going all out and competing in the main championship,” he told the BSB website. “We have the same bike and the same team but we have a year's worth of development so we know exactly where we are and just need to continue building on this.

"We may be a privateer team but I don't think there is any reason why we shouldn't be aiming for the top ten and I really can't wait to see where we are at come round one.”

The team is due to start testing the bike in either late February or early March ahead of the opening rounds of the new season.
