The 2010 MCE British Superbike Championship grid continues to grow with confirmation that Tom Tunstall will return this season, once again as team owner and rider.
The Yorkshireman will compete under the Doodson Motorsport banner in 2010 after the insurance company upped its backing to title sponsorship.
Sticking with Honda machinery, Tunstall finished fourth in the Superbike Cup standings last season and is delighted to have been given the opportunity to continue in 2010.
“We're very pleased that the Doodson Broking Group is stepping up to be title sponsor, part of their continued commitment to motorcycle sport,” he said. “We're looking to repay them with our efforts both on and off the track.
“We made some great progress with the new CBR1000RR and I'm happy to have the consistency with the bike. We've now got a year's worth of data and along with some further developments we should hit the ground running.
“It feels like it's been a long winter and I'm thrilled to get things confirmed and to be on the Superbike grid.”
As of yet Tunstall is undecided about whether to compete in the championship class or the newly-formed Evo category.
"As we already have our Superbike spec engine which has been developed over winter, it makes sense to also try a stock engine to give a reference for the EVO spec. We'll then be able to evaluate our options for 2010 and make an educated decision on which route suits our team"
Tunstall becomes the 27th rider to be confirmed to the 2010 BSB grid, with six weeks to go until the start of the season.
