Hungarian Superstock winner joins BSB

Dávid Juhász will fly the flag for Hungary in the British Superbike Championship after signing to compete with the MAR Kawasaki team
The 2010 British Superbike Championship grid is nudging towards the 30-mark after it was confirmed MAR Kawasaki have signed Hungarian youngster Dávid Juhász to participate in the Evo class.

At just 17-years-old, Juhász will become the youngest participant on the grid when he makes his debut at Brands Hatch, the Hungarian arriving on these shores having won the 2009 Hungarian Superstock Championship.

Despite his tender years, Juhász has already racked a series of notable results on the continent, including wins in the Alpe Adria Superstock series and success in the GSX-R European Cup.

He also holds the lap record around the Hungaroring, faster than that of occasional MotoGP rider Gabor Talmacsi.

"I am happy to be part of the best domestic championship in the world and to have the opportunity to race in the Evo class on the fantastic Kawasaki ZX10R,” he told the BSB website. “I hope to do the best job I can on track and I am also going to enjoy visiting the UK once again as I like England very much.

“I am proud to represent Hungary at this level of competition and acknowledge that I will be racing against the great riders from England and around the world. I would like to wish them all the best, and a safe season and I look forward to the first race at Brands Hatch."

"Today is a proud day for MAR and our sponsors as we will be fielding the first Hungarian in the British Superbike Championship,” team manager Malcolm Ashley added. “David has a bright future, as he has already achieved many wins, lap records and so on at only 17 years old. He is the Hungarian Superstock champion and also owns the 'outright lap record' of the Hungaroring beating the existing lap record held by a certain Gabor Talmacsi!

“The skills David already has for sliding the bike on the exit and running the turns hard will be put to good use now in the fantastic new Evo class where electronic aids are no longer permitted. We now hope for a successful season in BSB."
