Easton set to make Brands Hatch opener

The Scot undergoes an operation on his leg, but manages to avoid any serious injury
Stuart Easton says he will be ready to participate in the opening round of the 2010 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship after escaping major injury in an accident at Cadwell Park.

Easton took a tumble at Charlie's Corner during testing around the Louth circuit, the Scot suffering the worst of his injury when he was collected by his bike as they hit the deck.

Taken to hospital for X-Rays, Easton would undergo an operation overnight before being given the all-clear to be discharged today [Wednesday].

With no damage to the muscles or ligaments, Easton was soon back track side to watch Swan Honda team-mate James Ellison in action and was already plotting his return to action.

"Testing was going really well and then we had the minor glitch,” he told the BSB website. “I remember everything about the crash; I lost the rear going in to Charlie's and saved it but I was on to the wet grass and down I went. I thought I was going to be fine and then the bike just caught me.

"I see myself as being lucky for two reasons; one the bike could have landed completely on me and the other I could have done more injury. As it is I only have tissue damage, so nothing to my tendons or ligaments.

“I was operated on last night at Lincoln hospital and now 24 hours later I am on the mend. I am going to take it easy the next few days and then I will be ready for Brands Hatch."
