MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship entrant MAR Kawasaki has parted company with reigning Hungarian Superstock Champion Dávid Juhász less than ten days from the beginning of the 2010 campaign at Brands Hatch.
A concise and simple statement on the team's website under the heading of 'Breaking News' affirmed that 'following a last-minute hitch at the Hungarian end, MAR regret to announce that Dávid will not be joining for the start of the 2010 season' – before adding, enigmatically and without naming any names:
'However, a replacement has been found who will worry a few other teams with his proven race class. Watch this space...'
Following a winter of negotiations, teenage star Juhász only finally committed to Malcolm Ashley's squad last month – and the news that the two parties have unexpectedly terminated their relationship so soon brings to an end the prospect of the first Hungarian rider ever to swell the BSB ranks.
“It came down to politics in Hungary which meant that Kawasaki Hungary couldn't fulfil their part of the deal at the last minute,” a source told Crash.net
