Linfoot secures superb front row slot

Dan Linfoot will start only his third British Superbike event from the first row after a fine turn on the Motorpoint Yamaha
While Neil Hodgson's surprise failure to make it beyond the first phase of qualifying threatened to overshadow the Motorpoint Yamaha's day at Brands Hatch, Dan Linfoot went a long way to turn it around with a superb run to fourth on the grid.

Ahead of what will be just his third career British Superbike event, Linfoot not only made it into the Roll for Pole shootout, he went on to plant the R1 fourth on the grid, ahead of several more fancied rivals, including 22nd placed team-mate Hodgson.

A boost for the team following its early set back, Linfoot admits he cannot wait to get racing as he bids to prove his winter form was 'no fluke'.

“That was awesome, I really wanted to show that the winter work was no fluke and we are ready to step up. Brands is like riding in fast forward mode - a 45sec lap where you have to be inch perfect is a real test.

“I feel great that I managed to hit all the apexes and keep tidy - if you miss an inch around here you are punished, Rob kept reminding me to up my concentration and hit the spots and we'd get a 45secs and we did!. Not sure if I will be able to sleep tonight now!”
