Hobbs impresses on four-wheels at Knockhill

Dennis Hobbs enjoys racing on four-wheels at Knockhill with Mini Cooper outing
British Superstock racer Dennis Hobbs made a solid debut on four-wheels after being given the chance to drive the celebrity guest car in the FFDR Mini Cooper Cup at Knockhill.

Hobbs secured fifth place in the opening two races of the weekend and then took third on the grid for the final race thanks to a reverse grid draw.

While he took the lead into turn one, Hobbs then ran wide across the gravel and sustained damage to the suspension which forced him to retire.

Although disappointed with the way his weekend had ended, Hobbs was left proud of the way he had performed during the three races and said he would jump at the chance to race the Mini again in future.

"Perhaps l should have been a little more patient, but l saw an opportunity to go for the lead and went for it," he said. "Unfortunately after my off, there were some heavy vibrations coming from the rear of the car so l thought l'd best bring it back in one piece. I'm proud of my overall performance and l think l've upheld the reputation of bike racers here this weekend.

"I've just got to say a big thanks to Knockhill and to Tynecastle Garage for the opportunity and if another opportunity arises in the future l'd love to do it again."
