Michael Laverty continues to hold sway at the top of the timesheets during third and final British Superbike free practice at Mallory Park.
The Ulsterman scored his best-ever BSB grid slot of second at the Leicstershire circuit two years ago and is now well placed to go one better today with qualifying coming up.
Setting a new best of 55.953secs, he was three tenths faster than Josh Brookes, who moved up the order to second place on the HM Plant Honda. Laverty's closest rival on Friday, Tommy Hill, was third best, while John Laverty continued to threaten the top riders – including his brother - in fourth position.
Michael Rutter and Ryuichi Kiyonari also maintained their presence towards the front of the order in fifth and sixth, but were now joined by Karl Harris, the experienced BSB racer doing an impressive job on his return to competition aboard a two-year-old Yamaha.
Alastair Seeley was another to make big gains between sessions to go ninth best, behind Stuart Easton, while Chris Walker rounded out the top ten as he continues to be reacquainted with the CW Racing Suzuki he vacated whilst filling in for Simon Andrews at MSS Colchester Kawasaki.
