Plater back in Superstock action

Steve Plater confirms he will be back in Superstock action at Cadwell Park having recovered from injury.
Steve Plater will make his return to competition at his local Cadwell Park circuit more than three months after being seriously injured on the North West 200.

Plater suffered a series of injuries, including a broken arm and vertebra, in the accident at the road racing event, forcing him out of the Isle of Man TT and scuppering his Superstock title hopes.

Nonetheless, Plater will be back on the Superstock HM Plant Honda at Cadwell Park in an effort to return to full race fitness.

Keeping his expectations modest, Plater was pleased to be showing few ill effects from the myriad of injuries he suffered.

“It's been a long time coming but it is great to be coming back at my home track,” he said. “The injuries were hard to get over and the recovery process has been a long one but we're getting there.

“I've been out riding, doing about 100 laps on a Honda Hornet so not having the fairing was good and really didn't show any after effects in my arm or neck.

“I'm under no illusion that racing a Fireblade around Cadwell is going to be hard work, especially with the amount of track time we get in Superstocks. I won't be looking at podium positions and I'm being realistic about it.”
