Michael Laverty says he will be keeping his head down during the latest round of the MCE British Superbike Championship at Cadwell Park as both his team-mate and his brother go head-to-head for the coveted sixth and final 'title showdown' spot.

Laverty, who has already scored enough points to go forward to the shootout, with either be joined by Relentless Suzuki counterpart Alastair Seeley or his brother on the Buildbase Kawasaki John Laverty.

Admitting he has been asked what he thinks about the situation, Laverty maintains he will not have any influence on the eventual outcome.

"People have asked me what I feel about the final Title Fighter as obviously I have my team-mate Alastair Seeley and my brother John both vying for the position," he told the BSB website.

"It's odd, but at the end of the day there is little I can really do to help this weekend; only Alastair and John can lose the sixth place but it is a funny situation to be in. In fact we have had a bit of a joke about it in the team ahead of the weekend.

"Alastair seems to have the advantage and it is going to be an uphill battle for John to claw it back, but you never know what is going to happen so we will have to wait and see."
