Haslam to make home BMW debut at Oulton Park

2010 World Superbike Championship runner-up Leon Haslam is set to thrill British Superbike Championship fans with a special maiden appearance on home turf in BMW colours in a track demonstration at Oulton Park this weekend
2010 World Superbike Championship runner-up Leon Haslam will make a special appearance at Oulton Park this weekend – his first in the UK since being announced as an official factory rider for the BMW Motorrad Motorsport operation next season.

Fans attending the tense title-deciding round of the popular MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship in Cheshire will see Britain's highest-ranked rider on the world stage take to the track for the first time on championship and race-winning BMW S1000RR machinery in demonstrations on both Saturday and Sunday.

The former BSB runner-up will be at Oulton to support his friend and fellow BMW rider Steve Brogan, who is defending a slender points advantage in the championship's EVO category.

“Leon joining us at Oulton Park this weekend adds further to the already huge sense of expectation of a great occasion,” enthused BSB series director Stuart Higgs. “The weather forecast also looks set to approach 70 degrees – perfect weekend weather for the history-making six-rider British Superbike title fight in front of a huge crowd.”
