Lowes thrilled with BSB chance

Alex Lowes is excited to be joining the British Superbike ranks in 2011 after penning a deal with WFR Honda.
Alex Lowes has expressed his delight at securing the chance to compete in the British Superbike Championship this season after signing to ride an Evo-specification Honda with Team WFR.

The youngster is one-third of a three-man rider line-up for WFR, Lowes being joined by Glen Richards and Graeme Gowland, though unlike his team-mates, this season will be his first at Superbike level.

Though his twin brother Sam stole the British Supersport headlines in 2010, Alex posted a series of notable performances last season himself, not least in British Superbikes when a one-off outing for Redline KTM saw him score an overall points finish.

Describing WFR as one of the 'most professional teams in the paddock' regardless of its Evo status, Lowes was thrilled to be stepping up to the Superbike stage.

"When I heard what Team WFR had planned, I thought it would be perfect for me - a team in Evo with Glen Richards as a team-mate would be great. Then when I saw the set-up at the workshops and heard about the technical details of the bike build, testing programme and that there were three riders in the team, I was blown away.

“This is going to be one of the biggest and most professional teams in the paddock, Evo or Superbike and I'm part of it, it's a brilliant opportunity for me."

glad alex has a superbike ride and if he takes it cautiously and learn the bike he could become hot property in the superbike paddock in years to come. Aex and sam hav come on a long way since playing "follow my leader" around cadwell 5 years ago. good luck and ride safe but fast.
