Muff joins Tyco Honda for BSB EVO

Tyco Honda signs the former Swiss Superbike and World Endurance runner-up Patric Muff for the 2011 BSB EVO series.
Tyco Honda has announced it will enter a three rider team in the 2011 British Superbike Championship after signing Swiss rider Patric Muff to compete in the EVO class.

Fresh from the announcement that Peter Hickman will join Tommy Bridewell in an expanded championship class line-up, Tyco Honda has now confirmed it will also branch into the EVO category for Muff.

The reigning Swiss Superbike Champion will be making his full-time BSB debut in 2011, though he did make a handful of appearances in the National Superstock series last year.

"It has always been my dream to ride in the British Superbike Championship which is widely regarded as the best domestic series and a stepping stone to World Superbikes,” said Muff, who is also a runner-up in the World Endurance series.

“I realise however that in the first year I will spend a lot of time getting to know the tracks, which are very different to the circuits that I am used to."

Describing Muff as a 'two-year project', team owner Ian Woollacott is excited about the potential of Muff.

"We have been talking to Patric for some time now but we only sealed the deal after I flew out to Switzerland last week to spend some time with him.

“This is a two year project for us and I am sure that Patric will quickly adapt his style to suit the UK circuits. Our existing two riders, Tommy Bridewell and Peter Hickman have both offered to help him as much as they can."
