Hobbs back to BSB on a BMW

The 2010 title-winning BMW S1000RR falls into the hands of Dennis Hobbs for a renewed assault on the 2011 British Superbike EVO Championship.
Dennis Hobbs has announced he will return to the British Superbike Championship in 2011 after securing the 2010 title-winning BMW of Steve Brogan.

Though he has most recently concentrated on the British Supersport series, Hobbs has racked up a total of 49 Superbike starts since making his debut in 2003.

Getting his hands on the proven BMW S1000RR that took Brogan to EVO title victory last season, Hobbs is delighted to be making his BSB return after an absence of five years.

"I have wanted to get back into BSB for some time and now I finally have the chance,” he said. “BSB is the top class and it keeps getting better, so it was an obvious choice to move back after a few seasons in other classes. We had the opportunity to run Steve Brogan's EVO title-winning BMW from last season and we know it is capable of delivering.

“EVO is a great championship and the racing is close, so I am mentally ready I just need to get myself up and running on the bike in testing. I think the championship is going to be a close call and there are some really fast riders such as Glen Richards, so I can't wait to get cracking and see if I can get myself back up there like I did when I raced before in BSB.”

Hobbs becomes the 14th rider to commit to the EVO series this year, and the 36th BSB entrant overall. His arrival also boosts the BMW ranks to six, alongside John Laverty, Ian Lowry, Barry Burrell, Nick Medd and Aaron Zanotti.

Bikeraceguru and Spin cup. The forum is for comments on bike racing. If you believe Nick Medd is going to be the last BMW home or even the last bike home then it is your right to post these comments on the forum, but posting comments on the lads appearance is totally unacceptable.Just stick to the bike racing facts, not fiction or rumours you have heard and stop being so rude and insulting. You are even using Dennis Hobbs's thread to post abuse about Nick Medd.

@ Bemused.. Quote from UK Dread.. "The ugliest man in motorsport, perhaps if he lost the earrings and had a facelift he would get back into MotoGP".. How does that compare to my comment about Garth?? My Garth comment made no mention of Nick Medds ability at all, so what's your problem?? He does look like Garth from Waynes World without the glasses!! I never mentioned Garth or Nick were ugly or anything derogatory about either of them.. Just that Nick looks like Dana Carveys character.. If you've put 2 and 2 together and made 5 that's your problem.. You, Awesome, Nick and Stuart do seem to have a bit of a complex about me..
