Hopkins, Kirkham test at Croft

"Hopper still found plenty to adjust to after last weekend racing MotoGP on the comparative billiard table of Jerez”
Less than a week after finishing tenth on his MotoGP return, as a stand-in for the injured Alvaro Bautista in the Spanish Grand Prix, John Hopkins was back on track to continue preparations for his inaugural season in BSB.

The Samsung Crescent rider joined team-mate Jon Kirkham for an open test at Croft on Friday. Both riders completed 65 laps, without mishap, and it also allowed Hopkins the opportunity to learn another BSB circuit.

"Today was relatively low-key,” confirmed team manager Jack Valentine. “We were looking to give Hopper a chance for some track learning and for JK more time and experience in riding a full-spec Superbike around British circuits.

"There was a lot of traffic, much of it a lot slower than our boys can circulate, so it wasn't a day to be setting fast times. All the same Hopper still found plenty to adjust to after last weekend racing MotoGP on the comparative billiard table of Jerez. Hopper was saying his GSX-R1000 was bucking him around a fair bit - that's British circuit racing for you!

"JK had another good day; he continues to impress with how he's adapting to the Superbike. He's smooth, doesn't over-ride the bike; using a good rhythm to make his impressive lap times.

"So it was a productive day for both riders. We're looking forward to our final tests before the racing proper gets underway in a fortnight's time."

This Tuesday and Wednesday there will be BSB tests at both Brands Hatch and the all-new Snetterton 300 respectively.

The first round of the 2011 British Superbike Championship takes place at Brands Hatch from April 22-25.

crap circuits: Do you mean entertaining cuircuits full of character by any chance! I can only think of a handfull of tracks id rather ride on than Cadwell, brands, Oulton, thruxton. Go and ride the british tracks I bet you wont be bored! I bet he gets his **** spanked by the BSB boys and Girl lol That motogp ride is a big old target on his back, anyone that beats him can claim to be able to get a top ten in MOTOGP. Im sure excuses will soon come out though. A bad tire, an old injury, they have better electronics, my technician is not so good, the other bikes are better, this is last years model im running, less testing than everyone else etc etc etc.
