Chili to appear at Brands opener

Former WSBK race winner 'Frankie' Chili will be on hand to support the Triumph Triple Challenge Series at Brands Hatch, which will race on the British Superbike bill this year.
Pierfrancesco 'Frankie' Chili will make a welcome return to Brands Hatch ahead of the opening round of the 2011 MCE British Superbike Championship having been tapped as the Ambassador and Grand Marshal for the Triumph Triple Challenge Series.

The Italian made 276 World Superbike starts over a span of 12 years, claiming 17 race wins and 61 podiums until his retirement at the end of the 2006 season. Since then, he has worked as part of the commentary team for Italy's WSBK coverage, while he also undertaken a team manager role at Guandalini Ducati in 2009.

Chili will be present at Brands Hatch for the first time in five years as he undertakes his role for the one-make series, while he will also be on hand for autograph and photograph sessions.

Appropriately enough, his former WSBK rival Carl Fogarty will also be at Brands Hatch performing a similar role as part of the Rapid Solicitors Ducati 848 Challenge series.
