With just two weeks to go before the start of the 2011 MCE British Superbike Championship, several teams made it out on track at Brands Hatch to do some last-minute tweaking to their contenders.
Though not every rider submitted a best lap, of the unofficial times supplied by the teams, Jon Kirkham emerged fastest aboard the Samsung Crescent Suzuki with a 46.1secs lap time, marginally ahead of team-mate John Hopkins, who missed much of the day due to a technical problem.
A promising day for Suzuki, Josh Brookes on the Relentless machine was third fastest, ahead of MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Gary Mason aboard the new ZX-10R.
Michael Rutter was fifth quickest for Rapid Bathams Ducati, ahead of MSS Colchester's Stuart Easton and Tyco Honda's Tommy Bridewell, while Rutter's team-mate Martin Jessopp was eighth fastest as he gets ready for his BSB racing return next week.
Bridewell's team-mates, Peter Hickman and Evo entrant Patric Muff, brought up the rear in ninth and tenth, though several other riders, including Pr1mo Kawasaki's Chris Walker and Jentin Honda's Steve Brogan, did not submit a lap time.
