Bridewell lauds ex-Kiyonari Honda

Tommy Bridewell is looking forward to riding his most competitive British Superbike machine to date following Tyco Honda's purchase of the ex-Kiyonari Honda CBR1000RR.
Tommy Bridewell believes he has a 'fantastic opportunity' to forge his way up the British Superbike grid this season having gotten to grips with the 2010 title-winning Honda CBR1000RR.

Bridewell showed flashes of brilliance aboard a dated Honda in 2010, but is feeling more confident about his chances aboard Ryuichi Kiyonari's former mount, purchased by the Tyco Honda team (formerly Quay Garage) over the winter.

Indeed, while the youngster admits the preparation time hasn't been ideal, he can immediately see the improvements over last year's machine.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for me and I'm really looking forward to the season starting at Brands Hatch this weekend, I'm feeling very confident. The couple of tests we did were very good but I didn't get as much time on the bike as I'd have liked, so we still have a bit of work to do but my first impressions of the bike are great, I can now understand why Kiyo passed me so easily last year!

“I'm aiming for two strong finishes at Brands Hatch and hope to be challenging for a podium but I'm under no illusions it's going to be easy with the strongest field assembled for many years. I'm hoping a few sponsors will be coming along at the weekend and we can put on a good show for them."

Bridewell will be joined in the Tyco Honda team by Peter Hickman and EVO racer Patric Muff.

Hi Tommy, I hope you have a great ride & finish the race. Despite the knockers last year, there are a lot of people rooting for you to do well, especially as we know carrot-top is watching (Bless him). Good Luck & I will have a beer for you afterwards. Regards Rchard

It doesn't say they wont be at Brands: Ian Woollacott "This has put us behind the game , through no fault of our own. It will be all we can do to rebuild all our engines in time for Brands." Sounds like they will try.
