Baz facing sponsorship crisis

Loris Baz is under pressure to secure a sponsor before the next British Superbike round at Snetterton after running out of funds for his Motorpoint Yamaha ride.
Loris Baz's 2011 British Superbike Championship campaign could be about to hit a stumbling block after revealing he has lost a personal backer.

The Frenchman, a former European Superstock 600 champion, is embarking on his first full season of BSB racing with Motorpoint Yamaha after impressing in a guest outing aboard the R1 during the closing stages of 2010.

However, though Baz has shown impressive flashes of speed this season and remains in contention for a 'Title Showdown' spot, he requires an investor to allow him to continue racing.

“[sic] thks for the support everybody..its not a joke.. hopefully somebody who can help me will see that we will see i will do my best anyway tomo”, he wrote on Twitter ahead of the Knockhill races.

Baz, who is backed by Yamaha France, is currently eleventh in the overall standings with a best finish of fourth at Croft.

Yes - only the very best, well established stars of BSB get paid to race. Unfortunately Baz has a personal sponsor who has not paid the team any money so far this year. I hope he finds a replacement sponsor because this kid is seriously talented and should be on the grid. Personally I would like to see him in WSS asap rather than in BSB - perhaps he could replace Davies or Scassa if either of them move on next year?
