Doodson to miss Cadwell

Glenn Allerton's illness means Doodson Motorsport miss Cadwell Park
The Doodson Motorsport team has been forced to withdraw from this weekend's British Superbike Championship meeting at Cadwell Park after Glenn Allerton was hit by illness prior to heading to the UK.

Allerton had competed for the team at Brands Hatch in place of regular rider Tom Tunstall as he continues to recover from a broken pelvis and then tested at Cadwell following the race weekend.

The Australian then returned home for the latest round of his domestic championship but was then hit by a serious stomach infection just before he was due to return to British shores.

With his family also picking up the bug and his daughter forced to undergo hospital treatment, Allerton was unable to make it back for the weekend with the team now focusing on the Donington Park meeting.

“It's very disappointing not to be at Cadwell this weekend,” Tunstall said. “It's an unfortunate set of circumstances with Glenn being sick and so far away. We looked into the possibility of running another rider but with such a tight timescale we decided to focus on Donington.

“The plan is for Glenn to continue on the bike and I'm confident he will show his obvious speed and claim some positive results for the Doodson Motorsport team in the final three rounds of the season.”
