Michael Rutter says he will wait until free practice to determine whether he will compete in the penultimate round of the 2011 MCE British Superbike Championship.
Rutter was left with broken ribs after a collision with Josh Brookes at Cadwell Park, the accident ending his hopes of a 'title showdown' spot and ruling him out of the ensuing Donington Park event.
Having had two further weeks to recover, Rapid Bathams Ducati rider Rutter admits he remains uncertain as to whether he will be back on track at Silverstone, scene of a victory for him in 2010.
“We have a similar scenario to the one we had before Donington Park where I want to get out and race, but we will have to assess the situation on Friday before free practice. I was hoping to be stronger by now but we still have a few days so hopefully that will make the difference.
“I have been looking forward to the three Showdown rounds all season as those are the tracks that we know the Ducati generally works best at and that we would be able to have some good results.
“I want to get back out there again on the Rapid Solicitors-Bathams Ducati because I know we can finish the season with the results we deserve, I certainly wouldn't discount podiums from the team before the end of the year!”
