WFR eyeing title with young line-up

Westmoreland, meanwhile, stays on with WFR having joined it in the final stages of 2011 to develop its 2012-specification machine.

"It is great for me to know I am going to be working with team WFR Honda next season. I obviously finished last season with them and I know that we will have a good direction for 2012. I am made up about joining them for the full season as they put a lot of effort into their racing and for sure they have a great package.

"I rode a version of the 2012 specification bike at Donington Park and even between then and the end of the season there were big improvements. Then from the end of the season to the end of the recent test we had in Spain we saw even more changes and steps forward and we know what else we need to do before we start racing again next year.

very strong line up indeed have to say i think gowla could be the dark horse next year not that it would be suprising after seeing his 2nd half of the season was mixing it up with the big boys, now level playing field in terms of power! who knows what he can do alex is very quick and seemed settled on this bike i think he could also be right up there to, and you def cant rule out westy all credit to wfr for fielding all british young talent

Good for WFR fielding all young british riders but what happened to 16 x 2 rider teams. Will this mean other teams can run 3 riders also and are the organisers now going to allow single rider teams like SMT back in. The organisers should take any riders with funding in place wanting to enter superbikes into the championship regardless of it being a 1/2 or 3 rider team. The country is in financial meltdown and the organisers will struggle to get 32 riders in superbike fullstop,if they have to run in a 2 rider team they will struggle for 10 teams. The 2 rider teams can all make statements of intent but can the teams follow them up come the start of the season.
