PBM has high goals for BSB return

“Our motivation as a team to come back to BSB is to win the championship. It won't be easy, but we have clearly set our goal and we know what is needed” – Paul Risbridger
PBM team manager Paul Risbridger says Stuart Easton and Shane 'Shakey' Byrne are the ideal candidates to fire the team to British Superbike glory.

Paul Bird's Kawasaki outfit returns to the series with the aim of adding to the two British Superbike crowns won in successive years in 2002 and 2003 by the late Steve Hislop and Byrne respectively.

Risbridger told the official British Superbike website britishsuperbike.com the team was motivated and relishing the challenge next season.

“Our motivation as a team to come back to BSB is to win the championship. It won't be easy, but we have clearly set our goal and we know what is needed in order to achieve that.

“There are members of our BSB team that have obviously been part of winning titles before, but the championship is different now and we know we need to adapt quickly,” he said.

“On paper we have all the tools for the job ahead and now we are looking forward to getting started.”

PBM spent four seasons in the World Superbike Championship before confirming a return to BSB in 2012, when the team will run factory-specification Kawasaki ZX-10Rs.

Risbridger added: “It has been busy with the team since the end of last season, the initial rush obviously came with us securing the riders that we wanted to have in the team for next year; signing Shakey and Stuart was a big priority for us.

“We were then able to confirm the Rapid Solicitors sponsorship at the Motorcycle Show at the NEC and then it has been a lot of planning behind the scenes with the team. It will be a case of getting everything working together. That is why we signed Shakey and Stuart, because we know they have the experience to hit the ground running from the moment we start testing.”

Easton's season was curtailed in 2011 following a life-threatening crash at the North West 200 but the diminutive Scot has recovered from his injuries and will be fit to join Byrne during winter testing, with the team targeting an early test at the end of January.

PBM will also run a team in the MotoGP Championship next season under the CRT regulations as part of an ambitious campaign.
