Experienced French rider Freddy Foray joins Quatro Plant Kawasaki

Former World Endurance Champion and French Superbike star Freddy Foray has been drafted into the Quattro Plant Kawasaki team to compete in the MCE British Superbike series alongside Gary Mason under the PR Racing banner this season.

Foray is a regular top five finisher in the French Superbike Championship – taking third place overall in 2009 – and adds further international appeal to this year's BSB class with Noriyuki Haga, Anthony West and Luca Scassa also on the grid.

PR Racing, which will be known as the Quattro Plant Kawasaki team after completing a sponsorship deal with the company, is eagerly looking ahead to the new season having completed its line-up, with Steve Heneghan returning to the fold to contest the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship.

Quattro Plant have been involved in BSB and road racing in the past two years, but struggled to make a significant impact with Heneghan.

Simon Andrews was originally due to ride for PR Kawasaki in BSB this season but was forced to curtail his plans due to a contract clash after joining the Honda TT Legends team for the World Endurance Championship plus the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT.

Frenchman Foray, who won the World Endurance title in 2010 with SERT, said it had always been his goal to race in the UK.

“Coming to the UK has been a goal of mine for 2012 and I would like to thank Quattro Plant Kawasaki for this opportunity. It will be very exciting making my debut for both Quattro Plant and the British Superbike Championship.

“The calibre of riders this year is very high. It will be a challenge, which I am looking forward to, so I am keen to get out on the Quattro Plant Kawasaki as soon as possible and learn the tracks.”

Heneghan, who rode under the PR Racing banner at the final two rounds of last season, was a natural choice for team owners John Jameson and Juliann Mosquera.

“Quattro Plant Kawasaki is a tight-knit and professional team and I'm excited to be riding again for them. I am confident in their preparation of the Kawasaki ZX-10R and will be looking to make a big impact on the championship and will be pushing very hard from the off,” said Heneghan.

“Having known John and the guys from last year, we have built a solid relationship and it is a real good position to be in.”

Heneghan also plans to compete at the three main international road races, the North West 200, TT and Ulster Grand Prix.

Julian Mosquera, Quattro Plant Kawasaki Development Director, said he was excited by the team's final line-up for 2012.

@ burton bullet Money talk???? Come on, french riders doesn't have money. Sportbikes is not well represent in France. french riders are just piece of sh*t in the sportbike world. RdP, Cluzel, Di Meglio, Laconi, Baz, Guintoli all super talented, but no money, no huge sponsors to do something great. Foray will stay between 5 and 10 place during the season, like Da Costa did in 2010, and next year (or maybe after mid season like Baz in 2011) the place will be available for a brit rider. The only reason Foray get the ride, is that he is not sealed by a constructor contract. Good to see an other country in BSB after AUS, JAPAN etc... Go froggizzz!!

Foray is a good rider but there are british 'up and coming' riders who could have taken that ride. Money talking again.The way that BSB is going will make Toseland the last brit to be a world champion motorcycle road racer. Give the young brits FFS
