Tyco Suzuki teamon track at Brands Hatch

'We are still getting the tyre working better on the side as you exit the corners and on the bumps as it gets a bit unstable' - Alastair Seeley
Tyco Suzuki riders Josh Brookes and Alastair Seeley had an initial run out at Brands Hatch on Wednesday before moving on to the official MCE British Superbike test at Snetterton.

The pair previously tested at Kirkistown in Northern Ireland and were back on track again as they continue their preparations for the opening round of the championship at the Kent circuit at Easter.

Brookes tested new fork designs while Seeley attempted to overcome a stability issue on the GSXR1000 over the bumps as both riders take time to adapt to the 2012 Suzuki.

Australian rider Brookes told the official British Superbike website: “The first run out we had was at Kirkistown and that was a case of running the bike for the first time and to check everything was running okay.

“Here we have actually been running settings close to last year and so I am more familiar with it. The electrics and the fuelling are working well and it is smooth.

“We have a new fork design, which is more to do with the weight and different brakes, so I have been getting used to that. We have been just testing it all out really and then we can test the maximum potential at Snetterton tomorrow.”

Reigning British Supersport champion Seeley failed to complete as many laps in the morning as he would have liked as the team worked to overcome a suspension issue.

“I didn't get a lot of laps in this morning before lunchtime as we had a few issues with the suspension and then the chain jumped off. We are still getting the tyre working better on the side as you exit the corners and on the bumps as it gets a bit unstable.

“I have been trying some different lines to see if that would help, but Josh doesn't seem to be having the same problem so we have been trying to hit the nail on the head for Snetterton.”

Brooksie was a top man yesterday, my missus couldn't get off work so i asked him for a slider for her which he was happy to hand over after signing. Was a new one as he's going from Dainese to Arlen Ness as Dainese insisted he wear an AGV rather than his Arai so he told em to jog on.
