Byrne eyeing top step of podium at Oulton

Shane Byrne has a clear targets for the third round of the MCE British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park.
Shane Byrne is confident he can turn in a winning performance for Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki at this weekend's MCE British Superbike Championship round at Oulton Park.

The two-time BSB champion has enjoyed a positive start to the 2012 season aboard the ZX-10R, but has been unable to scale any higher than third position after the opening three races.

Nonetheless, Byrne has high hopes that Oulton Park will yield greater success for the team at its home race and is duly targeting the top step of the rostrum this time.

"I'm looking forward to going racing again as these past two weeks have driven me mad and I can't find any more DIY to do! I like Oulton Park and it's important this weekend as we have three races and it's also the team's home race so we need a good set of results.

"I'd say the podium has my name all over it so hopefully it will be the top step a couple of times at least."
