MSS Bathams Kawasaki has confirmed it will enter just a single Kawasaki for Michael Rutter during the fourth round of the 2012 MCE British Superbike Championship at Snetterton.

The team comes to the Norfolk venue without Peter Hickman following his axing as a consequence of his one-off World Superbike outing with FIXI Crescent Suzuki at Donington Park between BSB events.

However, while several riders have been linked with the available seat, including its Superstock rider Danny Buchan and WSBK exile Mark Aitchison, who left his Grillini BMW ride this week, MSS Bathams Kawasaki team manager Nick Morgan insists he wants to take his time in deciding who to employ.

"It's always nice to come to Snetterton. With it being the closest circuit to our Colchester base we always have good support from fans and customers. We're only running Michael in Superbikes this weekend because we don't want to rush the decision on who takes the ride."

Having begun the season with a podium finish, technical issues and crashes have dropped Rutter to 13th in the overall standings, but he is refreshed and ready for Snetterton following a successful North West 200 campaign.

"Snetterton comes right in the middle of a hectic few weeks for me. After a fantastic time at the North West 200 last weekend, we were able to gain some useful information about the Bathams Kawasaki Superbike which we hope we can use here.

"I'll have no rest after Sunday's races as I'll be heading off to the Isle of Man TT - as practice begins on Monday! Despite competing in the road races, BSB is so important to me and I'm hoping I'll be able to transfer the success of the North West to the fast Snetterton circuit."
