Noriyuki Haga has come out in praise for the British Superbike Championship, insisting it is closer than many other series around the world.

The Japanese rider has been making steady gains since joining the British domestic championship, the former WSBK legend so far peaking with a second place finish last time out at Oulton Park.

Lifting him to tenth in the overall standings, Haga admits the competition in BSB is tighter than in other championships, but he is confident he can maintain his upturn in form at Snetterton this weekend.

"At Oulton Park we were on the podium so of course that is my aim for every round," the Swan Yamaha rider said. "I tested for the first time at Snetterton before the start of the season and since then we have been to different circuits and we have made improvements.

"There are many fast riders in this championship; in other championships there are almost two levels whereas BSB is closer. I will be fighting again for the Swan Yamaha team because I am here to get results."
