Anthony joins restructured Doodson team

David Anthony will ride a Honda CBR1000RR under the Doodson Motorsport banner alongside Tom Tunstall at Oulton Park this weekend.
David Anthony will return to the MCE British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park after being signed by the restructured Doodson Motorsport team.

Having begun the season with much anticipation having acquired a pair of the new Ducati 1199 Panigales to race – a first for a national Superbike series – and formed a partnership with former EVO champions Jentin Racing, round five at Knockhill would see the under-performing Panigale dropped in favour of the Honda CBR1000RR, while the Jentin name is now missing from the team's profile on the BSB website.

Furthermore, with former Italian Superbike Champion Alex Polita parting ways with the team ahead of Knockhill, Doodson Motorsport have undergone a series of changes that will see Anthony join Tunstall aboard a pair of CBR1000RRs from this weekend.

Despite the upheaval, team rider/owner Tunstall is confident he and Australian racer Anthony – who rode for the team in the final three rounds of the 2011 season – will see a step forward at Oulton Park.

"The work that the whole Doodson team has put in since Knockhill to make this happen has been incredible. Dave lands in the UK this morning (Wednesday) and we are looking to continue the progress from Knockhill.

“We're looking forward to working with Dave again. It's a big ask for both him and the team especially with the three race weekend, but we're relishing the challenge and as long as we continue to make good progress we'll be satisfied."

Moto Rapido Racing is now the only team to prepare the Ducati 1199 Panigale in the British Superbike Championship, the bike having amassed only six points in its maiden season.

the fact is, and always will be, doodson racing will always run at the back of the field, you can have all the money in the world but it aint no good without talent. so they are on hondas now, and what happened, well nothing realy !

The reason the Panigale isnt competitive in BSB is that the teams have difficulty in integrating the Motec ECU into the Panigale electronics. Running the stock Ducati ECU the bike runs at the front of European Superstock 1000 without issue.
