Noriyuki Haga feels he has a good chance of challenging for the podium when the MCE British Superbike Championship returns to Brands Hatch this weekend.

A second visit of the season to Brands Hatch for ex-World Superbike rider Haga, it will, however, be the first time the full Grand Prix configuration has been used this year.

Even so, Haga is well acquainted with the longer layout from his time competing in World Superbikes, having won races in 2004, 2005 and 2006 during international competition.

As such, Haga is looking forward to returning to the Kent venue, not least because a breakthrough in set-up on the Swan Yamaha helped him prove more competitive last time out at Oulton Park.

"Brands Hatch is one of my favourite tracks and we have now found something with the setting that felt much better at Oulton Park. The team have been working with that to prepare something for the race this weekend and I have good experience of this track.

"I know Tommy will be fast, so we need to work hard again because we want podiums and it was unfortunate that we didn't get one at Oulton Park. We did get some good points and now we are in the top six; this is important but of course now we need to stay, so we will try and fight for podiums at Brands Hatch."
