Foray parts ways with Quattro Plant Kawasaki

British Superbike rookie Freddy Foray decided to leave Quattro Plant Kawasaki after a tough first half of the season.
Freddy Foray has announced he is parting ways with the Quattro Plant Kawasaki team after struggling to attain the results he was anticipating in his maiden season.

A former Endurance World Champion, Foray began the season brightly with a run to ninth place at the BSB season opener, but has not scored points since then and has also struggled with a back injury sustained in an accident at Oulton Park.

However, Foray identified problems with his bike as amongst the reasons for failing to crack the upper half of field, claiming to have 'made sacrifices to provide technical solutions' during his time in the team.

"The BSB was a huge challenge for me, financially and logistically, but I was fully prepared to meet it. After a promising start it soon became difficult for me to fully express myself.

“I did not having a good feeling with my bike, I made many sacrifices to provide technical solutions to the team by bringing in my old chief engineer and my coach, but nothing worked as I hoped. My team has never trusted those around me and the bike has not progressed.

"It's difficult to perform in a championship like BSB. I try hard, but under these conditions very few things were possible. And to make matters worse my back injury made things harder.

"I have taken this decision in order to revive my career. It was not easy to take it because I am not used to giving up the things I do. I gave my all in vain.

"I deeply regret this turn has taken this season. I left everything to move to England and I find myself without anything today! This championship is extraordinary and I hope to be able to return quickly and have the opportunity to express myself 100 per cent. However, today I have to find solutions for a quick rebound.”

Quattro Plant Kawasaki began the season with Foray and Gary Mason, but the latter left the team after four rounds, while his replacement Mark Aitchison competed for one event before switching to Splitlath Redmond Aprilia. Karl Harris joined in his place at Brands Hatch.

Speaking to a PR race technician shortly after the engine issue, the engine had been on the dyno, but had not been tested in the bike. Therefore, they did not want to put it out under full race conditions without it being tested first. As we all know what can happen if a seal goes and the engine blows on the track. Now who sounds amateurish? Peatman, PR crap, are they not one of the longest standing teams in the paddock and won the privateer championship in 2006. You sound like an ill-informed Nob. Do you know how much it takes to run a team at this level? Try speaking to the team at the next round to see their commitment before posting stupid statements, or are you happy to hide behind a forum post? Regards, Tom

A french 'middle of the road'rider who soon realised he couldn't make the cut it in BSB. No great loss to BSB as he was never going to win anything. Karl will get some better results for PR but they are an Elite team and will have to find a replacement rider for Foray. They must be an ELITE team because they have got a development director. The PR Team need to get their 'development director'to do some developing or they will fall into the clutches of Tom Tunstall and Bin Laden.
