Supersonic BMW's Tommy Bridewell is taking nothing for granted despite his solid footing in the Showdown positions in the MCE British Superbike Championship.

Bridewell is in the midst of his best ever season in the series and currently sits in fifth place, 11 points clear of Swan Yamaha's Noriyuki Haga and 18 ahead of Ulsterman Ian Lowry.

Consistency has been the key to Bridewell's success and he has no plans to alter his approach as the campaign reaches the business end, starting with this weekend's Bank Holiday meeting at Cadwell Park.

"To be honest everyone is asking me about the Showdown and everyone knows this sport has a habit of biting back or treating you well; it can go either way," he said.

"I am going to carry on riding the way I have because it is down to the riders that are not currently in the top six to beat me if they want that position in the Showdown rather than the other way round.

"The important ones are Haga and [Ian] Lowry and ideally I want to walk away from Cadwell Park almost confirming my place," he told the official British Superbike website.

"The team have done an amazing job so far and I honestly believe this could be one of our strongest rounds."
