Josh Brookes determined to reinforce title bid at Cadwell

'Everyone associates me with the Mountain jump at Cadwell... but I'll be looking to jump on the podium first and foremost and keep those podium credits going before the Showdown' - Josh Brookes
MCE British Superbike title contender Josh Brookes has a reputation for wowing fans at Cadwell Park's spectacular jump, but the Aussie's only concern this weekend is reinforce his bid for the championship.

The Tyco Suzuki rider is feeling relaxed and rejuvenated after returning home to Australia during the series break and is itching to get back down to business at the Bank Holiday meeting at the Lincolnshire track on Monday.

Brookes, 10th fastest in this morning's first free practice session at Cadwell, said: “I had a great time back at home in Australia recharging the batteries and getting in some alternative training, but it's been too long since we've raced, so I'm eager to get back on my Tyco Suzuki.

“Everyone associates me with the Mountain jump at Cadwell and it's a spectacular venue for the fans to get nice and close to the action, but I'll be looking to jump on the podium first and foremost and keep those podium credits going before the Showdown.”

Ulsterman Alastair Seeley is desperate to produce some big performances towards the end of the season after the reigning British Supersport champion has failed to make the kind of impression he had anticipated on the GSX-R1000.

Seeley hasn't given up hope yet of making the Showdown positions and is determined to give it his best shot.

“The break after Brands was a great opportunity for me to spend time with my son Lewis and also put in some hard training in preparation for the final races of the year,” said Seeley.

“I also got the chance to test at Donington on my GSX-R1000 Superbike, which should help us, but before then we need to bring some big points home from Cadwell to give us a chance of taking a top six spot into the Showdown at Assen at the end of September.”

North West 200 specialist Seeley was 11th fastest during FP1 this morning.
