Peter Hickman appears to be reaping the benefits of two test sessions at Cadwell Park and Donington Park during the MCE British Superbike Championship summer break.
Buildbase BMW rider Hickman was third fastest on the S1000RR in the first free practice session at Cadwell this morning after powering up the order in the final 10 minutes.
Hickman has taken plenty of heart from his early performance and hopes to carry his momentum through the weekend and into Monday's races as he aims to secure his best results in the series to date at his home circuit.
“I am really happy with the first session; it was good and I really feel that I know the bike a lot better now,” said Hickman.
“The break was great as it gave us the chance to get out for two tests in the dry and that has made the difference.
“I have really got my head around the BMW now and this morning shows that we are making progress,” he added on the official British Superbike website.
“This is my home circuit so it would be good to have a pair of good results here; if we can make the bike work here then that should mean we can do the same at the other circuits.”
