Today's second free practice session at Cadwell Park was thwarted by red-flag incidents and heavy rain.
Swan Yamaha's Tommy Hill had set the pace in the morning session and continued to top the times on his YZF-R1 until a deluge brought the afternoon session to a permanent halt, with the majority of riders only managing seven laps of the Lincolnshire track.
Hill remained on top with a time of 1m 28.744s, some eight tenths of a second ahead of Tyco Suzuki's Alastair Seeley, with Alex Lowes third quickest on the WFR Honda.
Samsung Honda's Michael Laverty came next, with Michael Rutter on the MSS Bathams Kawasaki holding fifth position ahead of Ian Lowry on Clive Padgett's Honda until the heavens opened.
The session was initially red-flagged after Luca Scassa fell at the hairpin and there was a delay while oil was cleared from the circuit.
After the re-start, Buildbase BMW's Peter Hickman crashed at Coppice, escaping unscathed, although Shane Byrne – second fastest this morning – had an off at the hairpin.
Byrne's accident saw the red flags deployed again and the Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki ace was taken to the medical centre with a shoulder injury.
Yet again the session was re-started but a downpour result in FP2 being abandoned.
