Tommy Hill is continuing to hold firm at the top of the Cadwell Park timesheets after going quickest in third free practice, though it was Karl Harris that captured the headlines with an excellent run to second.

A weekend that is already proving to be eventful after showers curtailed FP2 on Saturday, a dry Cadwell Park circuit greeted the riders for FP3, with Hill once again proving the man to beat as he lapped in a 1min 27.653secs.

However, things remain less predictable behind him as Harris, competing in only his second BSB event for the privateer Quattro Plant Kawasaki team, was an excellent second fastest, just three tenths adrift of championship leader Hill.

It was enough to put him just ahead of Honda duo Alex Lowes and Michael Laverty on their respective WFR and Samsung machines, while Josh Brookes completed the top five on his Tyco Suzuki.

Joining Harris is continuing the strong form shown in yesterday's dry FP1 session, Peter Hickman shrugged off a crash to be sixth fastest on the Buildbase BMW, ahead of Alastair Seeley, BSB rookie Danny Buchan, Jon Kirkham and Michael Rutter.

Meanwhile, Noriyuki Haga's hopes of reaching the top six title showdown have taken a potentially critical blow after he crashed heavily at Mansfield. Taken to the medical centre, Haga is reported to have suffered ligament damage in his shoulder and will now miss this weekend's event.

Similarly, Shane Byrne - who has already qualified for the Showdown - is also expected to skip the event after injuring his shoulder in a fall during FP2.
