Karl Harris has been forced out of the latest MCE British Superbike Championship round at Donington Park after injuring his wrist in an accident during free practice.

The experienced racer, who was starting only his third event with the Quattro Plant Kawasaki team this weekend, was collected by another rider at the Goddards Chicane, Harris subsequently taking a tumble and fracturing his wrist.

As a result, Harris will skip Donington Park and will visit a surgeon with a view to getting back on the back for the next event at Assen.

"I had just gone back out on the track after we had made a few changes to the suspension and the bike was feeling good. All I remember was going in to Goddards Chicane and being hit from the side and landing on the ground.

"Unfortunately, I landed hard on my left side damaging a few fingers and fracturing my wrist. I will see the surgeon tomorrow and have an appointment with the bone specialist in Sheffield on Sunday."

The injury is a blow to Harris and Quattro Plant Kawasaki after an outstanding performance last time out at Cadwell Park had them competing well inside the top ten throughout the weekend.
