Danny Buchan was unable to repeat his stunning results from Cadwell Park as he struggled to reach the same level in the MCE British Superbike round at Donington Park.
Buchan secured a sensational fourth place finish at Cadwell on only his second ride on the MSS Bathams Kawasaki, but 13th and 18th in Sunday's two races were the best he could muster after his team made the wrong call with the set-up of his ZX-10R.
“The weekend started well and after setting some quick laps I was hoping for a repeat of my Cadwell Park performance,” he said.
“We tried some new settings and they didn't seem to work and this, along with a coming together with Karl Harris, dropped me to a disappointing 23rd on the grid.
“We swapped back to the original settings for race day and I was 12th fastest in morning warm-up, so the race was looking good,” he added.
“I made up quite a few places and after the red flag helped me get up to 13th by the end.
“Race two was tough but at least I finished both races this weekend. I'm still learning and I can now look forward to Assen.”
