A slightly downbeat Michael Rutter was disappointed to miss out on a top ten finish on the MSS Bathams Kawasaki at Donington Park as he struggled with grip issues.
Veteran Rutter had figured prominently in qualifying, sealing a second row start in seventh place on the ZX-10R, but could only finish 22nd in race one and 14th in the second outing.
Rutter said: “Qualifying certainly went better than the race this weekend. We managed to find a great setting that allowed me to stick the bike in seventh spot.
“In race one I seemed to have lost all the grip from the rear tyre and after dropping back I got bumped by another rider that sent me even further down the order.
“I think I was back to 25th at one point but made it to 22nd in the end,” he added.
“Race two was better and although I would have liked to get a top ten result at least I stayed out of trouble during the race.”
