Supersonic BMW's Tommy Bridewell made a solid start to the Showdown opener at Assen as he notched a brace of top-six finishes.
Title fighter Bridewell battled with Swan Yamaha's Noriyuki Haga and Padgett's Honda rider Luca Scassa for much of race one, eventually finishing sixth after edging ahead of Michael Laverty on the last lap.
After securing a second row start for race two, Bridewell dug deep to hold off the advances of Haga and Laverty to collect 11 points courtesy of an impressive fifth place finish for the Italian outfit, although he remains sixth in the championship standings with the final two rounds still ahead.
A satisfied Bridewell said afterwards: “We made some big changes to the bike and improved a lot over the weekend so I'd like to say thanks to the team for their hard work.
“It was a tough weekend for everyone but we managed to get it right for the race again so I'm happy and let's see if we can improve for Silverstone.”
