Graeme Gowland joins Seton Yamaha for Silverstone

'I have had some time away from racing, which I needed... I'm also really looking forward to getting back on a Supersport bike after two years on a Superbike' - Graeme Gowland
Graeme Gowland will make a surprise return to British championship action in the Supersport class with the Seton Tuning Yamaha team at Silverstone.

Gowland left the WFR Honda BSB team at Cadwell Park and has not raced since Brands Hatch in July.

However, the 26-year-old has joined Seton Yamaha for the penultimate round of the British Supersport Championship this weekend and is now looking forward to the opportunity, saying he “needed time away” from racing.

“First of all, I would like to thank Phil Seton for giving me this chance to go out and enjoy my racing again this weekend at Silverstone,” he said.

“I haven't raced since Brands Hatch, so I am really looking forward to getting back on a bike and doing my best for the team.

“I have had some time away from racing, which I needed, but have been keeping fit riding motocross, added Gowland.

“I'm also really looking forward to getting back on a Supersport bike after two years on a Superbike.”

Great news - as I have posted before, Graham is a superbly talented rider. He has shown what he can do, so lets hope the rest has re-charged his batteries and love for the sport. Could be one to watch as Phil will give him a very, very capable bike. A great move by Phil. Good luck to Graham and Seton Tuning.

It's great to see him back riding! I was getting worried we'd never see him again. I'm also glad to see him back on a 600, always felt he was more suited to the 600 anyway. Hopefully things go well and he gets signed up for a full campaign in 2013, he can seriously challenge for the British Supersport title!
