Baiocco in at Moto Rapido for Silverstone

Ducati 1199 Panigale developer Matteo Baiocco joins Moto Rapido for the penultimate round of the 2012 MCE British Superbike Championship.
Reigning Italian Superbike Champion Matteo Baiocco will make his MCE British Superbike Championship debut at Silverstone this weekend as part of the Moto Rapido Ducati team.

The Italian racer, who was last week seen competing in the World Superbike Championship as a deputy for Niccolo Canepa in the Red Devils Roma outfit, will take the place of Abdulaziz Binladin, who injured himself at Assen.

One of the riders involved with the development of the Ducati 1199 Panigale, Moto Rapido team manager Steve Moore is hoping his experience will give the team a boost at this late stage in the 2012 season.

“It is a great opportunity for us to have Matteo join the team and he has a lot of experience with the Panigale so hopefully we can make some more steps forward this weekend. We hope that Abdulaziz continues to get stronger again over the next two weeks ready for Brands Hatch."
