Early BSB deal boosts Zanotti

"We'll be fielding a Suzuki GSXR1000 again next year and we are already working on the bike to make a whole raft of improvements" - Aaron Zanotti.
BSB regular Aaron Zanotti is aiming to be much better prepared for the 2013 season after successfully avoiding a repeat of this year's last-minute deal.

“Last year we were caught on the back foot with a last minute entry and we only finished building the bike during free practice at the first round and didn't get to go testing at all,” said Zanotti, who didn't score in 2012 for A-Plant Suzuki.

“We are on top of our game now. We'll be fielding a Suzuki GSXR1000 again next year and we are already working on the bike to make a whole raft of improvements.

“I can't wait to begin testing, kicking off with Cartagena. The bike has so much more potential than we were able to unlock this year. I know we can finish in the points consistently so that's my aim.”

Some of the criticism of Aaron is unfair here. He had a decent Superstock (and two-stroke) record before moving up, and if he can bring the budget in then why not run a Superbike? Clearly in any championship things will NEVER be fully equal, and someone has to be at the back. Championships where big-budget teams are at the back tend to be unsustainable (manufacturers don't like to come last, and disappear) so ultimately you want private teams competing against the big boys. There's no great shame in small teams like Aaron's (or Jenny's) doing what they're doing - with the difference in rider & equipment no-one is seriously expecting them to be anywhere near winning. Surely it's a choice between plugging away in BSB or being back in the mix in Stock or Supersport, and what's wrong with choosing the former?

Don't understand why he doesn't go superstock racing, with a back of grid bsb budget, would be a very nice superstock budget. Then if he he does well bsb teams will look at him.
