Scott Smart will compete in the British Supersport Championship next year as part of a four-rider line-up for the Oxford TAG Triumph team.
The experienced Smart, a former British Superbike race winner, joins Northern Ireland's John Simpson in the team plus Richard Cooper and Shaun Winfield, whose younger brother Gary will ride in the National Superstock 600 class.
Team owner Rob Winfield said: “We are delighted to settle our rider line-up before Christmas.
“The new bikes have just arrived at our workshops and we are working hard to develop them ahead of our pre-season testing programme.
“Bringing in a rider of Scott's calibre is a real coup for the team,” he added.
“Not only is he a top rider, it is also well known that he is a very gifted engineer with a great ability to develop a bike.
“That's going to give us a real advantage as we develop the new Daytona 675 into a title-challenging race bike.”
Winfield tipped Simpson for a bright future and has vowed to help the Northern Irishman take his career to the next level.
“John's got a great record on Triumphs, having started out in the T3 challenge before winning the Supersport Cup and experiencing a short spell in European Superstock, all on Daytona 675s,” he said.
“At 22, he's got a great future ahead of him and I hope that we can help take his career to another level.
“Richard joined us last year and did a great job, finishing on the podium four times in the last three rounds and ending up sixth in the final standings.
“We know that he is a quality rider and we are aiming even higher in 2013.”
