Former British Supersport champion Alastair Seeley has tested the Gearlink Kawasaki for the first time at Almeria in Spain as he prepares to return to the series in April.

Seeley left Tyco Suzuki after a lacklustre season in the British Superbike Championship to return to the Supersport division, joining old rival Ben Wilson in the Gearlink colours.

He won the title in 2011 by a single point from Wilson and both riders will go head to head in 2013 under the same banner on the ZX6.

Seeley, making his maiden visit to Almeria, told the British Superbike website: "I had two good days on the Gearlink Kawasaki Supersport bike before I did two days on a Superstock Kawasaki for the roads.

"I had never been to the circuit before so first of all I got used to the track and also the Kawasaki.

"We made good progress and on the second day I had taken 2.2 seconds off my lap times from the first day so it felt good, especially as we have covered a lot of ground," he said.

"I am happy to be back riding and the Kawasaki felt really good; it might take me a little time to adjust having raced a Superbike for a while but I will definitely be ready for Brands Hatch."

Seeley will have the chance to test at the official Donington Park test prior to the opening British Supersport round at Brands Hatch in April.
