Ryuichi Kiyonari may be seeking a record-breaking fourth British Superbike title in 2013, but the Samsung Honda rider admits he is feeling 'nervous' ahead of the opening round at Brands Hatch despite his incredible success in the series.

Kiyo faced the same difficulties as his BSB rivals as freezing weather blighted the official tests but he is fired up to begin his quest for a fourth crown and has vowed not to make the same mistakes as he did in 2011, when is championship challenge faltered.

"Before the start for a season we usually put in a lot of testing time, but this year, because of the weather, we've done very little," he said.

"We got some good laps in at Cadwell Park, but at other tests we haven't been able to do much at all.

"But, it's not a problem; I'm feeling ready for the first round at Brands Hatch. I'm feeling nervous, but I think everybody is the same," he added.

"The start of the season is always a nervous time, but I'm going to try and enjoy the first race because I'm seeing it as a new challenge.

"Coming back to the British Superbike Championship, I have the same team and the same mechanics, but I don't want to make the same mistakes I did in 2011.

"So for me, I'm looking at 2013 as a new challenge. "
