Linfoot injured in Brands accident

Dan Linfoot suffers a suspected cracked pelvis after a last lap tangle at Brands Hatch with Keith Farmer and James Westmoreland.
Dan Linfoot has been taken to hospital with a suspect cracked pelvis after being caught up in a collision with James Westmoreland on the final lap of the first British Superbike Championship race of the season at Brands Hatch.

The 24-year-old was enjoying a strong run on the Lloyds British GBmoto Honda after running as high as fourth in the early stages and though he had slipped back to seventh as the chequered flag loomed, he was still on course for the team's maiden top ten finish in BSB.

However, Linfoot's fortune would falter when light contact with Keith Farmer on the exit of Druids would send him off his bike and into the path of the close-following James Westmoreland, the Buildbase BMW man having nowhere to go but into the stricken rider.

With the race halted immediately, Linfoot was tended to on track initially and has now been taken to hospital with a suspected cracked pelvis, putting him out of action for the remainder of the weekend.

Westmoreland, who also came down in the crash, escaped unhurt.
