Lowes content with brace of podiums at Thruxton

'It's nice to get these results here, I'm really happy and these races were very fun' - Alex Lowes
Samsung Honda's Alex Lowes backed up his brace of podium finishes at Brands Hatch with another MCE British Superbike rostrum double in the second round at Thruxton.

Lowes finished third in race one and underlined his consistency by joining Shane Byrne on the podium again in the second outing, taking the runner-up spot.

Currently second in the championship after the opening two rounds - 15 points behind Byrne - Lowes is content with his start to the new campaign, although he was slightly disappointed to finish behind Byrne and Josh Brookes in the first race.

"I've taken four podium finishes so far and although it wasn't a win it's been consistent," he said.

"It's nice to get these results here, I'm really happy and these races were very fun.

"I pushed until the end of the first race; I knew it was going to be difficult.

"I had a good start to try and get away and then we had a close race right until the end," added Lowes.

"I was disappointed to be at the back of the three of us."

Ultimately, Lowes left the Hampshire circuit in upbeat mood and he will now work towards securing his first victory of the season at Oulton Park.

"It was hard work; the front was sliding, the rear was sliding, but it was great fun," Lowes said of the first race.

"We made a few changes for the second race and they were good.

"It has been a good weekend and I can't wait for Oulton Park."
