Samsung Honda's Alex Lowes would love to add a race victory to his impressive haul of rostrum finishes in the MCE British Superbike Championship Bank Holiday meeting at Oulton Park this weekend.

Lowes has finished on the podium in all four races of the 2013 campaign so far at Brands Hatch and Thruxton, but the 21-year-old is seeking to put the brakes on championship leader Shane 'Shakey' Byrne's hot wining streak to close the gap at the top of the points table.

The Lincoln rider is currently in second position with 76 points, with Byrne topping the charts on his Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki ZX-10R with 91 points after taking three wins and a runner-up finish from four starts so far.

"I can't wait for this weekend; especially after we had such a good test at Knockhill recently as we were able to make some good changes to the front suspension which gives me even more confidence," said Lowes.

"That is going to be important at a track like Oulton Park and we know the team and the Samsung Honda have already been working well in the opening two rounds and when I am happy like I am now, I tend to ride better.

"I hope that this weekend will be a circuit where we can push for the win, but I am not thinking about that too much at the moment," he added.

"If we get the job done in practice and qualifying then we'll see what happens.

"If it's on and I can beat the other guys then of course I will be pushing for it.

"I have been happy with the season so far and we need to be consistent, but a win would be a great result."
